Overview:
Effectively leads agency team, manages mid-level clients, and may travel extensively, without supervision, with clients.
Major responsibilities include:
- Agency team communication and management (macro)
- Strategic and tactical consultation with client, brand champion
- Facilitating, presenting, and selling high-quality deliverables
- Supporting financial reporting and reconciliation
- Management and development of direct reports
- Cross-servicing and new business development.
Description of Duties:
- Understands brand barriers, strategic vision, and implementation in collaboration with account leadership (SVP, insight planner and creative team lead); challenges strategies and directions not aligned with the brand.
- Supports scope development and execution.
- Manages revenue reporting and productivity compliance; assists in preparing regular forecasts and retainer reconciliation.
- Assists creative lead and planner in executing creative cube and all promotional initiatives; ensures delivery of high-quality product consistent with standards (i.e., excellent creative, on target strategically, and on time and budget).
- Facilitates communication among agency departments and with all client contacts in order to resolve conflict, celebrate success, and achieve strong team and client relationships; properly interprets client feedback.
- Sets clear team priorities; communicates brand objectives and strategies; anticipates and adjusts for problems and roadblocks; defines success in terms of the whole team.
- Ensures agency processes and documentation completion; keeps sr. management apprised of critical client concerns and opportunities.
- Actively participates in strategic and creative client presentations, selling and defending the agency's point of view.
- Challenges strategies and directions not aligned with the brand positioning; helps identify brand barriers, positioning, and strategies.
- Provides training support to new client managers who are acclimating to advertising and branding principles, and the implementation processes.
- Provides management direction and developmental support to direct reports in preparation for future positions; provides challenging and stretching assignments; pushes tasks down to empower others; shares ownership and visibility.
- Facilitates agency performance evaluation, development plans, and MBO plans; holds frequent development discussions, and addresses areas requiring improvement.
- Attends all appropriate client meetings, market research, conventions; and documents all key learning.
- Gathers and contributes appropriate insights, facts, and data to foster the planning and creative processes for the client and agency team.
- Stays current with industry news and competitive environment to continually expand knowledge.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in marketing or other related disciplines; or
- Minimum 7 years of agency experience with at least 2 years as an account supervisor reporting to a vice president.
- Must be able to travel frequently.
- Experience working on any and all of the following: pharmaceutical brand launch; professional marketing (e.g. direct-to-physician, managed care/healthcare plans, devices, pharmacies, etc.); and consumer marketing (e.g. direct-to-patient, relationship marketing, consumer).
- Specific industry or therapeutic expertise (as required by client).
- Comprehensive knowledge of solutions and application to all aspects of pharmaceutical marketing, research, and sales; helps ensure that cross-selling opportunities are facilitated and revenue goals are achieved.
