Overview:
Creative Project Manager - Responsible for overall quality, deadlines and budgets of agency accounts, as well as those of all direct reports. Plays an integral production leadership role.

Description of Duties:
  • Strong focus on innovative ways to execute creative. Responsible for bringing new production technologies and samples to his/her Creative team. Responsible for the innovative execution piece of project development. Brings innovative execution trends & ideas to the Creative Group before they are "main-stream".
  • Partners with Client vendors
  • Responsible for proactively building and maintaining strong relationships with clients including production peers and client vendors
  • Partners with Creative Coordinator to manage staffing/utilization to match estimates and timelines
  • Identify time management issues and proactively work with team members to address
  • Estimating costs, securing bids, supervising production of final film/printed materials and shipping to their final destination
  • Ascertaining in a timely manner the best price/vendor for each specific job and working with each vendor to produce the job in the most efficient and cost-effective manner
  • Working with the creative team to find the separator, printer, paper, inks, etc. as appropriate to each job
  • Providing chronology of dates for each step of the developmental process to ensure that deadlines are met and that jobs may be tracked
  • Writing all purchase orders prior to authorizing any production, including costs (or estimated cost range)
  • Access Advantage system to provide PO number to those associates who need them
  • Proactively leads budget management with Account Services, and is responsible for knowing budget status at all times. Flagging changes in specs (that affect estimates) to Account Services and Creative. Re-estimates jobs as necessary
  • Works with accounting department to verify vendor invoices and resolve any billing issues
  • Works closely with account services to reconcile billing worksheet to generate client invoices
  • Works closely with his/her Creative team members to share their Creative vision, & contributes valuable ideas and ways to achieve & produce the most innovative & creative projects
  • Run interference/intervention when needed between production, account service or creative services e.g. sort out the relevant and important facts and information
  • Directs workflow consistently and efficiently on-going for assigned teams. This includes creating organizational vehicles to increase the overall effectiveness of his/her team
  • Proactively identifies fresh and innovative approaches to team projects
  • Continually demonstrates strong conflict resolution skills
  • Utilizes solid knowledge of process and procedures to train new Production employees as needed
  • Initiates the improvement of skills and professional knowledge on a regular basis through self-study, courses, seminars, conferences and site visits
  • Contributes frequently in departmental meetings, and discussions.
  • Takes part in operational and process projects. This includes departmental projects.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 7 years of experience in the production or print production industry desired (or the equivalent of)
