Key Role:
The key roles of the Director - Product Management are to manage the evaluation of prioritized product commercialization opportunities with the intent of fully owning, developing and managing the brand plan upon deal completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the evaluation process for pharmaceutical product opportunities with the objective of our client completely managing, and fully funding 100% at-risk, sales and marketing of either currently marketed or soon-to-be launched products in exchange for a commensurate percent of brand revenue
- Through strong matrix management (dedicated analysts, business development, sales operations, etc.) fully assess product commercialization opportunities for both large and emerging Pharma across all major therapeutic categories
- Analyze secondary product and market data, recommend and manage primary research, develop forecast assumptions and strategic brand options, determine required resource allocation, and participate in the decision process with leadership to determine which deals to pursue and kill
- Participate in the development of selling tools enabling the business development team to pursue identified product commercialization opportunities
- Upon the successful evaluation and completion of an agreement, the Director - Product Management’s responsibility will completely shift to creating and flawlessly managing and executing the brand plan for the term of the deal
- Primary project owner and client contact
- Own internal and external (ad agency, other) vendor relationships
- Develop, track and manage key brand and deal metrics to ensure our client is maximizing profitability for the term of the arrangement
- Manage ongoing product analyses driving annual brand plan development and continuous course adjustments as required
Qualifications:
- 5+ years prior pharmaceutical brand management experience analyzing, developing and executing brand plans
- Prior experience in sales preferred
- Background in Pharma industry required
- Demonstrated abilities in both strategic thinking and flawless execution
- Outstanding creative marketing skills
- Strong market analytical skills and business acumen
- Demonstrated financial skills to enable product pricing, forecasting and trending
- Excellent presentation skills, both in the creation of materials and in their delivery
- Demonstrated ability to translate data into “relevant information” to identify market trends, opportunities and strategic options
- Takes independent action to achieve goals; is self-directed, but cooperatively works with others and shares information; asks the right questions in order to identify root causes
- Strong matrix management skills required

- Makes a positive, professional impression; performs effectively under pressure and in stressful situations
- 4-year college degree. Prefer major in marketing or business. MBA preferred.
