Summary:
Provides strategic consultation to major grantors of the company and internal project teams. Actively pursues business opportunities with existing and new clients to ensure all business targets are met.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Business Development
- Conduct market analysis in order to identify new business opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with grantors and work with them to develop and present strategic recommendations
- Develop new accounts to achieve business targets with strategically identified grantors and target therapeutic areas
- Consult with strategic teams to provide input to the benefit of internal and external teams
- Develop new and innovative business ideas to meet grantors’ needs and secure opportunities to present those ideas
- Develop and participate in capabilities/business presentations
- Collaborate with Science Department regarding proposal needs (e.g. needs assessments, learning objectives, recommended faculty, etc.)
- Develop proposals and budgets for final approval by Director of Education or Managing Director
- Collaborate with Director of Education and Managing Director to secure revenues greater than projected EBITDA.
- Personally secure a minimum amount of new business that is outlined in offer summary and will be revisited annually.
- Project Management - Assist the Director of Education and Managing Director to:
- Ensure the timely delivery of effective services to the complete satisfaction of the grantor
- As required, help to oversee the strategic direction of grants
- As required, identify potential grantors for grant submission
- As required, submit grant requests to grantors
- As required, consult with grantors regarding letters of agreement, payment
- Company Branding and Positioning
- Work with internal teams to track return on education (ROE)
- Work with internal teams to develop program reports (interim and final)
- As required, disseminate program reports to grantors
- Financial
- Provide input into draft budgets for all proposed activities to ensure revenue and profit targets are met
- Work with Managing Director to ensure internal cost control and adherence to agreed budgets
- Assist Managing Director to prepare financial forecasts
- Professional Contacts
- Develop and maintain professional relations with key national and international grant contacts
- Develop and maintain professional relations with key scientific and medical opinion leaders
- General
- Attend national and international medical conferences as necessary
- Represent company at local and regional education programs
- Provide assistance to other company personnel as and when deemed necessary by Director of Education and/or Managing Director
- Develop and maintain monthly reports to report progress on key performance indicators and major operational developments
- Remain current with accrediting body, governmental, and PHARMA guidelines to ensure company strategies and operations are anticipating business opportunities or threats

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university.
- Three or four years experience in a medical communications agency or pharmaceutical environment.
- Must have CME business sales experience and be up-to-date in all CME regulations.
