Job Summary
As Associate Scientific Director Level I, your responsibilities will include content development of scientific materials, data verification, and journal selection. You will be responsible for working with authors and clients on development of scientific content and integration of comments and changes.

Primary Job Functions
  • Writing and editing scientific and medical documents
    • Quality: developing ability to write within quality standards (on budget, on time, accurate)
    • Handles simple projects with direction from a level III ASD or SD
      • Basic writing and editing skills
      • Basic writing mechanics
      • Requires guidance with respect to content and strategy
      • Needs training to improve writing ability (mechanics of clinical documents)
    • Performing research (literature searches and reviews, etc.)
  • Analyzing and accurate interpretation of clinical data
    • Basic data analysis
  • Therapeutic area knowledge/perspective
    • Basic understanding of scientific and clinical concepts
    • Basic understanding of pharmacology, clinical trial design, drug development process
  • Strategy and client services/communication
    • Support SD in execution of strategy and external communication
    • Communicating with team members about project status and strategy
    • Participation in conference calls with clients, authors/KOLs as guided
    • Travel as appropriate to congresses, client meetings, symposia, etc
    • Participate as directed by SD
Skills/Education Needed for Position
  • 1+ years of Cardiovascular, Oncology, Immunology, or Women's Health experience would be helpful
  • An advanced degree such as a PhD, MD, or PharmD
  • The ability to accurately interpret data
  • Must have supported experience of medical/scientific writing skills
  • Experience with peer review of scientific/medical publications, especially in developing scientific manuscripts from study data
  • The ability to function in a team structure; and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability and willingness to travel (up to 30%)
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet research
  • Punctual, responsive, and reliable
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
