Our client is a technology-driven, global health care company that develops and commercializes specialty pharmaceutical products for the eye care, neuromuscular, skin care and other specialty pharmaceutical products.

Description:
Serves a key leadership role for the North American Region Managed Markets and Finance function. Directs the financial and contracting operations of the U.S. Managed Health Care segment. Manages the development, analysis, execution and financial reporting of over 200 national and regional Managed Health Care contracts covering HMOs, Pharmacy Benefit Management companies (PBMs), Group Purchasing organizations (GPOs) and governmental entities (Medicaid, Defense Personnel, Veterans Affairs). Must maintain strong influential relationships with the North American Management Team.

Position Requirements
  • Experience equivalent to or 6 years college education with emphasis in finance or accounting, MBA or CPA highly desirable; OR BS or Pharm.D. Pharmacy Degree, MBA highly desirable.
  • 10 to 12 years in the pharmaceutical or managed care industry including extensive experience in pharmaceutical contracting and a minimum of 2 years experience supervising other professionals.
  • Extensive contract evaluation review and negotiation of high value performance related contracts.
  • Knowledge of accounting and finance principles, including concepts and practices as they apply to broad cross functional decisions and plans.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of managed care philosophy, prescription drug benefits, and pharmaceutical contracting principles.
  • Extremely effective interpersonal skills with an ability to influence management and network across functions and be a participative and effective member of a mid to senior level management team
  • Excellent planning, organization and management skills.
  • Strong general business acumen with the skills to challenge managers across all functional disciplines.
  • Excellent formal and informal oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of database and reporting systems helpful (e.g., CARS/IS, SAP)
